"Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you." ~ Friedrich W. Nietzsche

Hello!

This site still receives a lotta traffic. Thank you for your continued interest.

I am still currently writing horror/suspense/pulp only in longer form. Visit my alter ego HERE for continued updates and current fiction. And please, you can call me Jodi or whatever you called me before I went all nom de plume.

Thanks for the years of loyal friendship and support.

WildCard

There is you. Then there's the promise of who you could be. But what if you aren't who you think you are? Margo Gremmler bends the rules to get by. The only way to make an honest living is to be criminal. The draw back?
Guilt can be a bitch.

Margo Gremmler is a real life person. She has wild red hair and a personality that kicks arse I adore. She lives in Chicago and helped saved the Evanston Libraries. She enjoys jazz and is currently querying her YA dystopian novel, 30 Decibels. To the best of my knowledge, she’s never hired a hit man. This mini series pilot is for and dedicated to her. I auctioned the opportunity to be in one of my fiction stories, and Margo’s generous bid won. I’m so glad it did. More than she will ever know.

Paul Phillips owns a book store in the land Down Under. He writes horror and has a great sense of humor. He generously donated a good portion to the Evanston Library, and he fit the bill, so as a surprise, I wrote him in as the character Detective Phillips.(Please don't sue me!)

Big Thank You to the editing services of Karen Schindler who helped smooth out the choppiness and Sean Monaghan for reading and awesome feedback. There is an anonymous reader too, you know who you are, and you know how grateful I am.

Wicked Woman's Booty 2

Wicked Woman's Booty heats up, walks the plank, and ships out with Episode 2:

Pulp Metal Magazine has morphed into lighter hues and polkadots, but the appeal is all the same. Be sure to check out the new site and reads this week. As always, a big thank you to Jason Michel.

Sean Monaghan's novel is serialized over at Infinite Windows! The Rotated jumps straight into action with kidnappings, cults, sci fi devices, motorcycles, and love triangles. Read his first episode HERE.

Promises To Keep

Deanna Schrayer and Jim Wisneski donned the "Creative Writer" award on me months ago. I promised in April I'd put up my outrageous lies..uh, truths. Technically, I've got 45 minutes left in April. ;-) Thank you to Deanna and Jim. Here you go.

Six lies and One truth? or Six truths and One lie?

You tell me:

#1 I jumped out of trees for the thrill, off the shed for curiosity,
the cliff for the dare, and off the second story balcony because I was
super woman.

#2 Once, I was almost abducted by a man in a pig mask with a knife.

#3
When browsing a book store, I always read the first and last line.
If I can figure out the story, I put the book away.

#4 I was 14 when I received my first marriage proposal.

#5 I’ve skinned many animals.

#6 I have moles that shape the little dipper on my left arm.

#7 I still have the lips of the first boy who kissed me. In a jar. In
the back of the freezer.

The rules for the award are simple:
1. Thank the person who gave this to you.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you.
4. Tell up to six outrageous lies about yourself, and at least one
outrageous truth – or – switch it around and tell six outrageous
truths and one outrageous lie.
5. Nominate seven “Creative Writers” who might have fun coming up with
outrageous lies.
6. Post links to the seven blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know you nominated them.

I nominate:

Mari Blaser

Sean Monaghan

Margo Gremmler

Mark Crittenden
His bungee chord snapped... True Or False?

Karen Schindler
She was musked inside a tiger's cage! True or False?

Tim Keeton

Anne Tyler Lord
She kissed John Hall (Oats & Hall)! True Or False?

Horror Through The Ages Anthology

The anthology "Features a multitude of horror stories from virtually every time period, prehistoric to distant future." Thirty poems and stories from authors you'll recognize including Sean Monaghan, Jessy Marie Roberts, Kaolin Imago Fire, AJ Brown, Robert C. Eccles and myself.

My story, Skin, is a sci fi horror piece, sitting right beside Sean Monaghan's The Stone Goddess.

Thank you to Lame Goat Press's Editor Christopher Jacobsmeyer.
