Have you heard of
Durable Goods? Let me tell you about this gem. Editor
Aleathia Drehmer invites two unknowing writers (or poets) to participate in a particular issue. She puts their work together (it reminds me of spin the bottle!) then writes a ribbon wrapping poem that unites the two pieces. When I recieved my microzines in the mail today, I couldn't wait to read which poem mine (called "Shiner") had been paired with. "We Look Better In Ruins" is written by FD Marcel. I was simply amazed at our synchronicity. Powerful. Aleathia's addition "There Is More Than a Disconnect" is vivid and balancing. Just wow.
Isn't that a gorgeous cover?

Jodi, this actually sounds like a Blind Date for writers! :-) What a great idea. And so good that you were chosen. Loved the short story, too.
Greetings from London.
I agree that's a sharp cover and thanks for the link, Jodi.
...it's a creative way of generating attention to one's work. And of course seeing your work in publication is cause for celebration as well:)
And yes, loved the covers.

What a great idea. These kinds of things can really create some neat experiences
ACIL,
Ha! And yes, I’m happy to be introduced to the mag. I enjoy the underground projects and people. There is something personal and real that the online or mass publishing world can’t touch. Thank you for keeping up with the pirates! You left a funny comment over there. I’ll respond at PMM.
David~ Hola Amigo! Come to the Underground my friend…
Thank you, El! It’s all about the words, isn’t it?
Charles, Absolutely! I think that is what this particular magazine is all about. Aleathia does it for the love. She thoroughly enjoys putting these together. Thanks for swinging by.
well done jodes!! You are a "bad girl" love seeing the poet you in action!!! Shiner rocks..
You're a subscriber!
Thank you, Mike S! Glad you enjoyed. <3 I need to visit your site and see what's goin on in your world these days. It's been awhile, my friend.
Ohh, congrats again, Jodi! Love to see that your wonderful poems are getting due recognition as well.
I must catch up with your pirates. Your smart humor will do me good. :D
You always have the nicest images and artwork on your site, Jodi!
Thank you so much Mari & Nicole! <3
That sounds like a very unique publication. I'll check it out.
Jodi, you are a treasure.
Jodi, *I* am a dumbbell! I can't figure out how to access your poem. I went to "Durable Goods" and then to the other one (whose name I have already forgotten, even though I thoroughly enjoyed looking through its entertaining illustrations and comments). I saw your name, but couldn't find your work. Help!
Jodi, you're not just a treasure, you're an inspiration too. Yeah!
AC~ It is! And I'm glad you will! ;-)
Madam Z ~ You're so sweet. The poem is in a small print issue, but I have some extra copies. If you email me your address I can snailmail you an issue. The subscription is $10 bucks for a year and you get a microzine every other week all year round. Not sure the other place you're talking about (haha), but thank you!
F.G Thank you, sir
