your dark is my poetry
mirrors break like sanity
the shards, they echo
they tell a story

It's been awhile since I've written an absurd horror, so here's a little piece for you. I hope it touches a place deep down, because that's where it was written from.
Thank you, as always, to the wonderful Lori Titus of Flashes in the Dark.

Dark little gem, Jodi.
Thank you, David. It seems my regular dark has gone three shades darker the last few weeks.
Very nice. I like this a lot. Wonderful language.
Thank you, Charles, glad you enjoyed. Good to see you back.
Hardly your first tale over in the dark, Jodi, but congratulations on the pub!
...you're masterful at holding the mood, setting a tone.
Well done, Jodi

Hi John, FitD was one the first places to take a risk on me and publish my work, so its like going home to be published there. I appreciate the site, Lori, and the gang so much. Thanks for reading. ;-)
EL! Thank you, I always appreciate your kind words and the read. Congrats on all the excitement in the book publishing world. In fact, I'll wander over to your site now and see if the book is available yet. ;-)
Amazing piece of poetry! Hmm, prose... Oh, whatever it is, it's wonderful and creepy in a whole new level!
Thanks, Mari! I especially enjoy bringing you to "creepy, wonderful places". <3
very cool (and creepy) 'piece' -- kind of experimental, which I love. so glad to see you thriving. peace...

Hi, dear Jodi. I left a long comment on here last night, but I don't see it now, so I guess I goofed it up somehow. Anyhoo, I just want to say that your dark, mystical story did "touch a place deep down" in me.
Linda ~ Thanks, hon. It’s so good to see you. Appreciate you swinging by & reading. Curiously, you’ve been on my mind lately. Hope you’re doing well.
Fresh Garden~ Thanks for visiting and I’m glad you enjoyed despite the shivers. ;-)
Skees ~ that makes me wanna get tattoos, dye my hair purple, and buy a harley. I’d originally decided that as a turning 40 thing, but mid-life crisis seems to be happening sooner, so I might need to move up those plans. (Thanks, bud!)
Madame Z~ You left a beautiful comment at the website. I so appreciate you Zelda, can’t even say. I hope we can meet up some day.

Those Daily Fiction folks are too kind. Nice, indeed! Thanks for pointing it out, Linda.
Nice work Jodi - so lyrical.

Sorry I'm late to this but ... wow. Stupendously creepy in a quiet, kinda whispering way. Totally dug it.
