"Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you." ~ Friedrich W. Nietzsche

Hello!

This site still receives a lotta traffic. Thank you for your continued interest.

I am still currently writing horror/suspense/pulp only in longer form. Visit my alter ego HERE for continued updates and current fiction. And please, you can call me Jodi or whatever you called me before I went all nom de plume.

Thanks for the years of loyal friendship and support.

I Interview Melanie Browne at PMM Where We Suffer the Leetle Lemmings, See Circus Fish, Sculpt Charles Manson (kinda), Pole dance with Gypsies, and then the Wicked Woman's Booty Sails into Thunderous Thwarts of Thicketing Trunks of Trampled... Trinkets

***

The title? True story. Mostly.

There are a few reasons why Texas shouldn't be thrown to hell in a handmade casket. In no particular order: Carrie Clevenger, geckos, Suzy Bradshaw, wildflowers, Bill Crider, mourning doves, Nicole Hadaway, Mark Crittenden, this thing, the cactus on my roof, and

Yes, this is her tattoo! I found this
at Billy Idol's site.
Hawt as a Borderland Texas BBQ
grill in the grid of summer
where the wasps the size of f*cking
birds come out to bite then sting you.
Sizzle, sizzle little lady
let that rebel roar.
(I wrote that for you, Mel)

<------  Melanie Browne, editor of The Literary Burlesque, who I had the distinct pleasure of laughing with,  lemming-tossing with, pole-dancing with, rebel-yelling with, chatting with, ahem, officially interviewing for Pulp Metal Magazine. She is nothing but abstract awesome and everything I had hoped Texas to be. Thank you, Mel, for making the lone star state, well, not so lonesome and for giving the world such lovely visions through your eyes.

Also.... ARRRR!!!!!  PMM spanks

A big Thank You, as always, to Jason Michel.

ps. I'm terribly behind on reading stories and responding to emials I'll catch up soon (I hope!)

WWB keeps getting racier. I'm sure I miss most of the music references.

Great interview. I might have even learned something.

Loved the interview. Full of irreverence and totally devoid of sycophancy. Just the way I like them.

Many thanks.

Greetings from London.

Venus~ Other than the ice metal dragon riffs, there really aren't any references. I hope I'm not weighting it down to much in pirate talk speech. As far as the interview goes- Mel really has her own brilliant style and unique views when it comes to literature and style. I think it shows well. Thanks for reading!

ACIL ~ Thank you! Haha. ;-) Yes. Very cheeky and we had fun. PMM is the only zine in the world that would let us get away with that kind of fun with literature. Obviously, we take need to take the art seriously, but that doesn't mean we can't play and show personality and the heart of the writer (which I hope we did with Mel). ;-)

Darn it! All I can think of now is pole dancing with Gypsies! I always wanted to be a Gypsy. I love Gypsy music. I like to dance like I think Gypsies dance. I fantasize about a dark-eyed, black-haired, muscular gypsy man when I...um...well, you know. Good night!

Haha. Uh huh, Madame ! ;-)

I know I'm late to the party but that was a really good interview -- Jodi. I love it when they're fun and funny -- not the usual serious "about the industry" questions.

And I never knew Billy had a dreadlock phase either...

Thanks for featuring another Texan -- always interested to meet more of them ;-)

Nicole! I knew I was forgetting somebody. I was thinking you lived in the Georgia-ish regions. I'm not sure why. I've added you to my reasons to keep Texas on the map lists. ;-) Thank you for reading. And yes, woo... glad I missed that dreadlock phrase. It so neat to meet all of you Texans. You are much more what I imagined than most of the people I've met so far. Weirdness.
