"Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you." ~ Friedrich W. Nietzsche

Hello!

This site still receives a lotta traffic. Thank you for your continued interest.

I am still currently writing horror/suspense/pulp only in longer form. Visit my alter ego HERE for continued updates and current fiction. And please, you can call me Jodi or whatever you called me before I went all nom de plume.

Thanks for the years of loyal friendship and support.

~ Congratulations to Editor’s Unleashed Contest ~

#1 Winner Laurel Wilczek
for Fairy Tales!

Her blog is here.

Congrats to the other 39 and see all of their names here.

Everyone worked so hard and I appreciate all the imagination and grammar that went into each and every story.

Jodi, you are generous beyond words and a gracious example for anyone to follow. For those who might visit and don't know, Jodi finished quite high in the popular vote ranking...top 15, I believe, but for some reason was not selected by the judges to be included in the anthology selection.

Maybe they are Merlin fans as well. Dunno.

In any case, there have been a slew of folks who didn't make it in who have ranted and raved publicly, castigating the contest, the participants and the kind host who made it all possible. It would easy to be miffed, particularly if one were in your position of having won the vote but having the election taken from you. But you have not done that--in fact you've gone in the opposite direction and supported everyone--and it is a testament to your character.

Best,

--John

And yes, It takes grace to be as kind and supportive as you've been. I'm so glad you're at EU too.

It's the writers I meet along the way that make this field worthwhile.

I'm looking forward to reading more of your work in the forum.

I'm waaay late to this party, but I also want to say congrats to Jodi on a wonderful story, and also a huge thank you for her support and endless encouragement. Jodi was the one who convinced me to enter the contest. In the writing world, where bitterness and hostility toward fellow writers is much too common, Jodi is a rare gem - a fabulously talented writer with a beautiful soul.
